Black Kray - Thug Angel
Client: Forced Resignation Records
I designed & produced the prints for a special edition vinyl release by underground cult-rap icon Black Kray. To me, the look of the 15 edition Test Press was to represent a “rougher” side of the original.
I used a laser-engraved woodblock technique to relief print the original album artwork. This pushed the colour monochrome black & white, while infusing the wood grain into the image.

The relief prints were scanned & converted into print positives, which were then screenprinted onto the final vinyl jackets. This further exaggerates the translation of the image, pumping the contrast & pushing the punky feel.
