The End is Nye (Peacock)
Created by Seth Macfarlane & Bill NyeI designed graphics for props, playback, set dec & costume in this 6-episode science docu-drama series starring Bill Nye (the Science Guy).
There were tons of fun props written in as punchlines or visual aids, giving me a great opportunity to experiment with a variety of art styles.
I also made playback graphics for several scenes, including a boardroom slideshow presented by the show's co-creator, Seth MacFarlane.
Seth shows up again in another episode with a set of electrical grid diagrams I designed for fictional cities. Each screen features a photo-collaged aerial night views of real places, overlaid with intricate 3-colour linework illustrating imagined electrical infrastructures.
For costume, I designed the embroidered patches that are featured on the astronaut uniforms that appear throughout.
One of my favourite set dec pieces: a dumpster cover-up for a big SFX explosion scene. You only see it for a split second, but it was a blast to make. We were on a tight schedule & it was a last-minute addition, so I knocked it out in a couple of hours to send to the printers same day.
There were also a ton of other set decoration graphics that I designed, including the branding & other various coverups for a super market.
As well as some posters for the “feature films” playing at a nickelodeon theatre.
There were a bunch of other interventions that I handled too: bags of coffee, a hurricane wall, airplane branding, & maps... SO MANY MAPS!
